The short version
BJJ MatPlan is a training tool, not a data business. We collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell data or show ads, and you can erase your account and everything in it yourself, at any time, from Settings.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, a display name you choose, and a password (stored hashed — we never see it).
- Gym membership: which gym you belong to and your role (coach or student), so the app can show you your gym's curriculum.
- Training journal: the sessions, submissions, positions, and notes you log. Journal notes are private by design — the database only permits you to read them; not coaches, not us through the app.
- Training stats: aggregate numbers derived from your journal (session counts, streaks, submission totals). These are visible to members of your gym unless you turn that off in Settings or your Journal.
- App activity: saved favorite techniques and, for coaches, curriculum edits and class logs.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No tracking you across other apps or websites.
Services we run on
Your data is stored with Supabase (database and authentication) and the app is served by Vercel (hosting). When you search for technique videos, your search phrase — never your identity — is sent to the YouTube Data API, and results may be cached in a shared, anonymous lookup table so other users searching the same phrase don't re-hit YouTube.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete account permanently erases your account, journal, favorites, and profile. If you are the only member of a gym, the gym and its data are deleted with you. This is immediate and cannot be undone. Leaving a gym (or being removed by a coach) never deletes your personal journal.
Children
BJJ MatPlan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
